When I decided to attend NYU, it took a few weeks to wrap my mind around the idea that I would leave Danville, a town of less than 20,000 people in Kentucky and go to a school that was bigger than my home town in one of the biggest, busiest places on earth. But my first year at NYU was one of the most memorable years of my life. Within the first month, I found a part-time on-campus job at NYU's College of Dentistry. Within the first few weeks of school I became involved in debate at NYU, and I was even elected Treasurer. As a member of NYU's Parliamentary Debate Team, I traveled to Maryland, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania and debated against students from across the US. I made many close friends and experienced things that positively changed the way that I view the world.
