Study Abroad
New York University encourages every undergraduate to have an international experience. These experiences can take many forms, and several of them are available to students while they are enrolled in Liberal Studies, either as freshmen or as sophomores. Students take courses that fulfill the LS curriculum requirements, and coursework abroad is designed to fit seamlessly with the program at Washington Square so that all the requirement are met on time.
There are three unique opportunities for LS students to study at the following NYU study abroad sites:
If you are interested in studying at any of these sites while in LS, please visit www.nyu.edu/studyabroad.
NOTE: Liberal Studies students who wish to enroll in the freshman program at a global site must be eighteen years of age on or before the date of their travel to the site for the purposes of study.
Other Study Abroad Opportunities
Other study abroad opportunities abound at NYU. Students in various NYU Scholars Programs travel and study abroad; LS students in the Dean’s Circle participate in this program. Students can also participate in dozens of summer study abroad opportunities in many international locations, including Belgium, Canada, China, Cuba, the Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Finally, many LS students spend a semester in their junior or senior year at one of NYU’s fully staffed study abroad centers, including sites located in Florence, Ghana, London, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Prague, Accra, Buenos Aires, Tel Aviv and Shanghai.
